FCA hires new worldwide director

The FCA has appointed House Workplace director Ruairi O’Connell to be its new director of worldwide because it continues its recruitment drive.

Mr O’Connell is House Workplace director, worldwide and has expertise within the House Workplace and the Overseas Workplace, together with as British Ambassador to Kosovo.

The regulator says he will probably be liable for serving to to “form the FCA’s worldwide technique” in addition to overseeing post-Brexit coverage. 

His appointment follows the appointment of six new administrators in July because the FCA expands its headcount as a part of its three year-strategy launched in April.

Nikhil Rathi, chief government of the FCA, stated: “I’m happy to welcome Ruairi to the FCA’s new Senior Management Crew to guide our worldwide work, the place he brings with him intensive expertise of worldwide affairs, safety and technique.”

Mr O’Connell joined the Overseas and Commonwealth Workplace in 2001. He served as British Ambassador to Kosovo between 2015 and 2019. In London, he served as head of unit of the Overseas Secretary’s Particular Consultant on Local weather Change (2008-2010) and in different roles.

He joined the House Workplace in 2020 as director, worldwide.
